History & Mission:

Pipes By George has been in the cigar, pipes and tobacco business for over 30 years.  We are one of the oldest, full-service,  continually operating tobacconists in North Carolina.  Since our founding in 1975, our goal has been to provide courteous, efficient service to our clientele.  All employees at Pipes by George are selected based upon George's high standards of product knowledge and customer appreciation. We aim to both  please and to educate our clients in any way we can.

Our shop is independently owned. It is maintained with an eye toward preserving the ambiance of an olde-tyme tobacconist shop. When you walk through our doors onto the rough hardwood floors, you smell tobacco and see hundreds of  pipes, a walk-in cigar humidor, tinned and bulk tobaccos.  No high tech accouterments here!
